Those with autism often face daily challenges and our expert support teams understand these and deliver a bespoke person-centred approach to each service user’s care.
This is where the mind and beyond approach comes into its own, as we remove the limits that often make everyday tasks an anxious struggle, by creating a comfortable, safe and understandable approach.
We encourage those we support to participate in activities they enjoy and to have a say where possible in building their support package and families are involved in the process from the day we receive referral.
By using key motivators and understanding triggers of anxiety and frustrations, we begin to develop vital life skills, work on independence in the community and around the home and even grow and maintain friendships within the wider community.
Staff are highly skilled in various communication techniques and methods, so if a verbal method is unaffective, we can draw on British Sign Language (BSL) or Makaton trained staff members and even visual forms such as PECS (Picture Exchange Communication system).
Our support sessions can be delivered in various settings including the community, in our respite facilities and in their own homes.
